This was Phase 2 for a repeat client who first hired us to install a mini-split system. During that project, we advised her that upgrading insulation would significantly improve her home’s comfort and efficiency. When she was ready, she contracted us for a full window, insulation, and siding overhaul.

The plan was to remove the existing siding and sheathing, install new insulation from the exterior, re-plywood the structure, and add 1-inch foam insulation for increased R-value. We also planned to install new energy-efficient windows and doors before residing the home.

However, once we started, we uncovered major structural issues—substandard framing and widespread rot. The entire sill system was rotted, and everything needed to be reframed section by section. We carefully rebuilt the home one piece at a time, ensuring that each repaired section was structurally sound before moving to the next.

Though the project took longer than expected due to these hidden issues, we persevered, restoring the home the right way. Now, the homeowner is warm, comfortable, and thrilled with a home that’s better insulated, structurally sound, and built to last.
